On December 3, Antonina Sklyarenko, President of the Ukraine Pulse and Soybean Association (UPSA), opened the Agro Security Forum held in Warsaw, which brought together agricultural businesses, analysts and experts from Ukraine, Poland and other EU countries. UBSA served as a co-organizer of the event.
Antonina Sklyarenko welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of responding quickly to dynamic changes in global agricultural trade.
“Global and regional trends in the grain, protein and oilseed markets are changing faster than ever before. Our task is to act faster and make decisions that will work tomorrow,” said the UPSA President.
In addition to officially opening the event, she moderated a thematic panel dedicated to the pulse, grain and oilseed markets, where participants discussed prospects and challenges for agricultural exports, the role of processing and opportunities to strengthen trade links between Ukraine and EU countries.
The Forum also featured a speech by Grzegorz Koziej, Director of the Department of Food Products and Agri-Food Industry Analysis and Sector Specialization (Poland). He highlighted the strong potential of Ukrainian products for the Polish market:
“Poland’s imports are dominated by groups of goods needed by our economy and which Ukraine can supply in large volumes: soybean and sunflower oil, as well as processed products used in feed production,” noted Grzegorz Koziej.
The Agro Security Forum in Warsaw became an important platform for discussing agricultural trade between Ukraine and Poland, food security in Europe and Ukraine’s integration into the EU agricultural space.
