The current 2025/26 MY will be interesting: imports of sunflower oil into Turkey may increase due to a decline in domestic production (according to forecasts, it will amount to only about 1.22 million tons).
Also, in the new season, the Turkish vegetable oil market may be significantly influenced by changes in Turkish legislation as well as trends in the economy, politics, and geopolitics.
The key trends and prospects of the Turkish vegetable oil market at the international agro-conference AgroFood Summit 2025 (November 19-21, Mersin) will be presented by the head of the analytical company SUNSEEDMAN, Veysel Kaya.
Kaya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Engineering and worked for about 16 years at the food company Trakya Birlik (one of the largest agricultural trading cooperatives in Turkey). The expert was engaged in analysis of global markets for oilseeds, vegetable oils, and meals, and produced daily/weekly price lists and market reviews.
In 2014, V. Kaya founded his own company, SUNSEEDMAN. The company specializes in reporting, analysis, consulting, and brokerage in the agri-food sector (mainly the fat-and-oil complex). The speaker’s total experience in agricultural market analysis exceeds 27 years.
Trends in the development of Turkey’s grain and oilseed processing industries will be discussed within the framework of a special panel discussion at AgroFood Summit 2025.
