Today, February 10, the world marks World Pulses Day—a celebration of crops that play a strategic role in agriculture, the economy, and global food security. Pulses are not only a high-quality source of plant-based protein but also a key to sustainable farming, as they naturally enrich soil fertility by fixing nitrogen and reducing the need for mineral fertilizers.

Ukraine remains one of the leading producers of pulses, and their importance in the national agricultural sector continues to grow each year. In the 2023-2024 marketing year, pulse cultivation areas have remained stable, and projections indicate further expansion in 2025.

Pulse crop areas in Ukraine (2023-2024 MY):

  • Soybeans – 2.62 million ha
  • Peas – 212,000 ha
  • Beans – 41,700 ha
  • Lentils – 16,700 ha
  • Chickpeas – 4,000 ha

The Ukrainian Pulses and Soybean Association has already celebrated this occasion by organizing a major event, bringing together over 250 pulse producers and processors. The event attracted significant media attention, reflecting the growing interest in pulses as a promising sector within the agricultural market.

On this occasion, we wish all association members bountiful harvests, successful contracts, and continuous business growth. Together, we are strengthening Ukraine’s position in the global pulse market and contributing to the development of sustainable agriculture!
