Ukrainian manufacturers are actively contracting pea supplies to India.

Recently, India officially extended the permit for pea imports until April 30, 2024.

Antonina Sklyarenko, the head of  Ukraine Pulse Association, notes: "India is an attractive market for Ukrainian pulse producers. This country adheres to protectionist policies and actively restricts imports from other countries. Nevertheless, 'export windows' are constantly opening. Recently, India officially extended the permit for pea imports, which lasted several months, until April 30, 2024. Such opportunities stimulate Ukrainian producers to grow pulses, especially small and medium-sized agricultural businesses. Another factor contributing to the increase in pea cultivation area, particularly for peas, is the opening of the Chinese market for Ukraine."

According to  Ukraine Pulse Association,  data, the increase in pea cultivation area in 2024 could reach 20%.
