On March 20, a high-level meeting was held in Warsaw between the agricultural ministers of Ukraine and Poland, joined by representatives from key agricultural associations of both countries. The central topic of the talks was the enhancement of agricultural cooperation and prospects for bilateral trade in agri-food commodities.
The discussions brought together participants from the grain, oilseed, pulse sectors, and other agricultural branches. A major point of focus was the growing need to expand Ukrainian soybean exports to Poland.
Antonina Sklyarenko, Chair of the Ukraine Pulse and Soybean Association (UPSA), noted that Poland is currently facing a shortage of soybeans, and Ukraine is ready to meet this demand.
"Demand for soybeans in Poland significantly outpaces the capabilities of local producers. Ukrainian agribusinesses are well-positioned to supply this market consistently with high-quality products. This not only creates new opportunities for Ukraine’s agricultural sector but also deepens economic ties between our nations," she stated.
She added that while Ukrainian soy is already present on the Polish market, there remains strong potential for expanding export volumes.
